THE PRINCE OF PEACE<\/span><\/h1>\n

For<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>to<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>us<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>a<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>child<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>is<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>born<\/u>,<\/u><\/span><\/em><\/strong>
\nTo<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>us<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>a<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>son<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>is<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>given<\/u>;<\/u><\/span><\/em><\/strong>
\nand<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>the<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>government<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>shall<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>be<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>upon<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>his<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>shoulder<\/u>,<\/u><\/span><\/em><\/strong>
\nand<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>his<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>name<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>shall<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>be<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>called<\/u><\/span><\/em><\/strong>
\nWonderful<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>Counselor<\/u>,<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>Mighty<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>God<\/u>, Everlasting Father,<\/u><\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Prince<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>of<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>Peace<\/u>.<\/u><\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Christmas can be the best time of the year, but it can also be the most difficult. \u00a0 Sorrow and loss seems to get magnified. \u00a0Expectations are raised high and reality rarely lives up to them. \u00a0It is important, midst all of the frustrations and turmoil and selfishness of this world, to remember that our biggest need was met by the child born in poverty in Bethlehem long ago. \u00a0Christ came with one purpose…..to die. \u00a0There was to be no peace between God and man unless ours sins were dealt with. \u00a0Since we were helpless to make ourselves good, as anyone who has ever really tried knows, \u00a0there was not much hope….until Bethlehem and Golgotha. \u00a0Only a sinless man who did not need to die could be an effective sacrifice………what love<\/p>\n

How grateful I am for the peace that only Jesus can give. It is not dependent on circumstances. \u00a0It is not dependent on problems being solved. \u00a0It is dependent on my remaining dependent on Him. \u00a0 Circumstances and problems will rob me of peace when they become my focus. \u00a0The turmoil and chaos of the world will destroy if it is not viewed through the filter of Christ. \u00a0 Only when I am abiding in Him am I able to see a bigger picture. \u00a0He is the ultimate answer to every dilemma. \u00a0 As long as I am alive on this earth, there will be sorrow and loss….but He truly has overcome the world. \u00a0The key is, as He tells us, to “look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen” (2 Cor 4:18) \u00a0As I begin to understand better who God is, He grows larger and the “passing away” things of this world grow smaller and smaller and smaller…..and less able to harm.<\/h4>\n
