{"id":252,"date":"2016-08-06T22:33:16","date_gmt":"2016-08-06T22:33:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.doctormomx4.com\/?p=252"},"modified":"2016-08-06T22:33:16","modified_gmt":"2016-08-06T22:33:16","slug":"thy-kingdom-come","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.doctormomx4.com\/?p=252","title":{"rendered":"Thy Kingdom Come"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Every morning that I am able, I walk. \u00a0My walk takes me through 5 miles of beautiful country. \u00a0There are green hills, small lakes, creeks, crepe myrtle trees, birds, turtles. \u00a0 You get the picture! \u00a0Anyway, as I walk I like to pray and I usually start with the Lord&#8217;s prayer. \u00a0But today when I said Thy kingdom come I thought&#8230;.in order for God&#8217;s kingdom to come, this current kingdom has to pass away. Is that what I really want? \u00a0As I looked around I thought how difficult it is to let go of things I love. \u00a0 I tend to be the sappy and sentimental type. \u00a0I like to stay where\u00a0 memories have been made. \u00a0But then I remembered something that CS Lewis said \u00a0\u201cIt would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea.
